From the A64 (Tadcaster,
Leeds, Malton etc)
Take the York West exit off the A64. At the traffic lights follow the
signs for the City Centre (not the Racecourse entrance). Go past Tesco
and over the mini roundabout. This leads along the orange route (above) past
the Racecourse on the RHS. At the end of the Racecourse there is a right turn
into Knavesmire Road (just by the Newington Hotel). Go along Knavesmire Rd and
turn right for the grandstands entrance. Go to the very end of that road and
the club house is on the right by a grey gate. You
may park on Racecourse Road without charge
The pitches are through the gate, to the right and down the hill. Immediately
the other side of the race track are the 11 a side pitches and the mini soccer
pitches are
past the first 11 a side pitch and to the right behind the wire fence (see map
top left).
The under 7s mini soccer pitches are directly behind the far goal of the 11 a
side pitch.
From the A59 (Harrogate, Knaresborough etc)
Take the A59 (Boroughbridge Rd) towards the city centre. Eventually this
becomes Holgate Rd. Immediately after the iron railway bridge turn right
(Dalton Terrace) right again at the lights (The Mount). At the bottom of the
Mount turn left by the bus stop and the Newington Hotel. This is Knavesmire Rd
(see map). At the grandstands turn right onto Racecourse Road. Then follow the
directions above to find our ground.
From Bishopthorpe
Normally the gate from Bishopthorpe Road into Racecourse Road will be
closed. Therefore you will have to continue to Campleshon Rd and turn left. Go
past the Knavesmire Primary School on the RHS and turn first left into
Racecourse Road (see large scale map). Then follow the directions above
